Memorization
This entry is based on the Memorizable.org entry in the February 15th edition of the Instructional Technology Update. In this edition, three questions are posed.
- With the vast amount of information that is available to us through technology and access to the internet, what do we still need to have our students memorize?
- Are we asking them to memorize information that can more easily be accessed elsewhere?
- Do we get hung up on the memorization of facts as the expense of higher level thinking and creativity?
You can comment on these questions by using this blog, if you’d like.

Yahoo! Time Capsule
Blog about your contribution to the Yahoo! Time Capsule.
“You’ll be part of history and witness what other are saying and saving. You’ll have your handiwork presented to Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, projected on one of the most famous relics on the planet, AND then beamed along a path of laser light into space. This will definitely be something to email the grandkids about someday.”

The New Face of Learning
What thoughts do you have about the ideas presented in the article, “The New Face of Learning” by Will Richardson in the October 2006 edition of Edutopia.
“What happens to time-worn concepts of classrooms and teaching when we can now go online and learn anything, anywhere, anytime?”
How will this shift impact our district? Our students? Us?
